Privacy Policy

The short version
We process your IP address to show it to you. We store nothing — unless you opt in to create a short link.
What data we process
When you visit whatsmy.fyi, Cloudflare's edge network processes your request. We read the following data from that request to display it to you:
- Your IP address (IPv4 and/or IPv6)
- Approximate location data (city, region, country) derived from your IP
- Your ISP and autonomous system (AS) number
- Your connection's HTTP protocol version and TLS version
- The Cloudflare datacenter that handled your request
- Your browser's User-Agent string (read locally by your browser, not sent to any server)
This data is processed in memory for the duration of a single request. It is never written to a database, log file, or any persistent storage.
What data we do NOT store
Nothing — for standard visits. We have no database, no server logs, and no persistent storage for regular page views. However, if you choose to create a short link (see Terms of Use), a snapshot of your data is stored until you delete it.
Short link data (opt-in only)
If you explicitly create a short link, we store a snapshot of your connection data (IP, location, ISP, browser, WebRTC result) in Cloudflare KV edge storage. This data is stored until you delete it using your delete token. You can also contact us at info@whatsmy.fyi to request deletion.
Cookies and tracking
We use no cookies. We use no tracking pixels. We use no third-party advertising or analytics that require cookies.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g., total page views, top countries). This system:
- Does not use cookies
- Does not log individual IP addresses
- Only reports aggregated, anonymised metrics
- Is GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant
Legal basis (GDPR)
We process your IP address under legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our legitimate interest is providing you with the service you have explicitly requested: displaying your own connection information to you. This processing is minimal, temporary, and directly serves your interests.
Because we store nothing, there is no data subject right of erasure to exercise — there is simply nothing to erase.
Infrastructure
whatsmy.fyi runs on Cloudflare Workers, a globally distributed edge compute platform. Cloudflare acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
